Citizz is operated in India by KARMAVYUHA COMMUNICATIONS LLP (the developer shown on Google Play). This page explains how to request deletion of your Citizz account and the personal data linked to it.
How to delete your account
You can close your account yourself in the Citizz app, or ask us by email.
Option A — In the Citizz app (recommended)
- Open the Citizz app and sign in.
- Customer accounts: go to Profile and tap Close my account at the bottom of the screen. Confirm when prompted.
- Business accounts: open your business dashboard, go to Settings, then under Account tap Close account. Confirm when prompted.
- Your account closes immediately. You are signed out and your listing is hidden from discovery. Push notifications stop.
Option B — By email
If you cannot use the app, email contact@karmavyuha.com from the email address on your Citizz account. Include:
- Subject line: Citizz account deletion request
- Your registered email and phone number
- Whether you use Citizz as a customer or business
We may ask you to confirm your identity before processing the request.
What happens when you delete your account
- Immediately — You cannot sign in. Business listings are hidden. Push alerts stop.
- Reactivation window — Customer accounts may sign in again within 90 days to reactivate. Business accounts may have up to 180 days depending on account type.
- After the retention window — We delete or anonymise identifiable personal data unless an exception below applies.
Data that is deleted or anonymised
When your account is closed and personal data is purged, we remove or anonymise data such as:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Profile and listing photos you uploaded
- Business profile details tied to your account
- Addresses and location data you provided for your profile or bookings (where not required in anonymised booking records)
- Push notification tokens and active session data
- Your sign-in identity (disabled at closure, removed at purge)
Data that may be kept
Some information cannot always be deleted immediately, or must be kept longer by law or for legitimate business needs:
- Up to 90 days after closure — Identifiable personal data may be retained for support, disputes, and fraud prevention, then deleted or anonymised (see our Privacy policy §5.2).
- Payment, billing, and tax records — Transaction history, invoices, and commission records are kept as long as applicable law requires.
- Bookings and orders — Booking records may be kept for business operations; customer personal details in old bookings are anonymised when your personal data is purged.
- Reviews — Reviews you wrote may remain visible without linking to your closed profile (for example shown as a deleted user). Reviews about a closed business may remain for marketplace trust.
- Grievance and support cases — Kept as long as needed to show fair handling.
- Abuse and safety investigations — If an account was suspended or removed for abuse, relevant uploads, messages, and investigation notes may be kept longer than 90 days while needed, then deleted or anonymised.
- Security logs and backups — May be kept for limited periods under normal IT practice.
Delete some data without closing your account
You do not have to close your account to ask us to correct or delete specific personal data. Email contact@karmavyuha.com from your registered address and describe what you want removed or updated. We will respond under India's data protection rules. Some records cannot be removed early where law requires them. See Privacy policy §7 (Your rights).
You can also update much of your profile in the app (for example name or profile photo) from Profile or business settings without deleting your account.
Google Play subscriptions
Closing your Citizz account does not cancel Google Play subscriptions you manage in the Google Play app. Cancel those separately in Google Play if needed.
