Last updated: 3 April 2026. Legal entity: KARMAVYUHA COMMUNICATIONS LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India ("we", "us"), which operates the Citizz platform and brand. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the Citizz mobile app, this website (including the invite-only Citizz.com billing workspace when provided to your organisation), and when you contact us.
1. Who we are
KARMAVYUHA COMMUNICATIONS LLP operates a digital marketplace under the Citizz name that connects customers with local service providers. For personal data processed through Citizz, we act as the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Privacy questions: contact@karmavyuha.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Citizz, we may collect:
- Account and profile data - name, email, phone number, business name, service categories, photos, and other fields you add to your profile or listings.
- Usage and communications - activity needed to run the service, such as messages sent through the platform, listings, orders of paid features, and support or grievance correspondence.
- Payment information - payments are processed by a licensed payment partner. We do not store your full card number. We receive payment status, amounts, transaction references, and billing details you submit for invoicing.
- Device and technical data - device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and diagnostics for security and reliability. If you allow location, we use it for discovery and matching as described in the app.
3. Legal bases and how we use information (India)
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the service (performance of contract and legitimate interests).
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the platform safe.
- Send service messages (receipts, security alerts, responses to support).
- Comply with law, including tax and regulatory obligations.
- Use aggregated or de-identified data for analytics where we do not identify you.
4. Sharing
We share personal information only where needed: with payment processors, cloud and messaging providers, and other processors under appropriate terms. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product.
Information you place on a public profile or listing is visible to other users as you intend. In-app messages are visible to participants in that thread.
5. Retention
We keep information while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and meet legal and accounting requirements. Grievance records may be kept longer where needed to demonstrate fair handling.
6. Security
We use safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password in the app and contact us at contact@karmavyuha.com.
7. Your rights (including under India's DPDP Act)
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based (this may limit features you can use). You may also have the right to nominate someone to exercise rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity, as the law allows.
To exercise these rights, email contact@karmavyuha.com from your registered email where possible. We may verify your identity before responding. Some data must be retained by law even after erasure requests.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate through our Grievance process or, where applicable, approach the Data Protection Board of India or other competent authority under Indian law. For court jurisdiction over contractual matters relating to these policies, see Terms of use.
8. Children
Citizz is not intended for anyone who cannot legally enter a contract in India (generally under 18). If you believe we have collected a minor's data in error, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in India and other countries where they operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards where required by law.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, give additional notice (such as in the app or by email) where practical.
