Business platform standards
Citizz is a live marketplace, not a one-time directory listing. If you register as a business, you agree to operate your account in good faith. This guide explains what we expect; the binding rules are in Terms of use (v1.1) §3 and §3.4.
Active participation is required. Registering, then uninstalling the app or ignoring bookings while your profile stays visible misleads customers. Citizz may hide, suspend, or permanently remove business accounts that harm trust on the platform.
How Citizz is designed to work
Bookings, messages, assignments, and status updates exist so everyone shares one clear record:
- Customers discover you and submit a pending booking request.
- You accept or reject promptly so customers are not left waiting.
- On the service day you (or your team) perform the work and mark progress honestly in the app.
- Payment for the physical job is between you and the customer unless a Citizz checkout clearly applies to that job.
See Booking journey (business tab) for the full flow.
What we expect from every business
- Respond to bookings quickly — Review pending requests regularly and accept or reject in a timely way. Leaving a long backlog of unanswered pending bookings is not acceptable.
- Honour confirmed jobs — Show up or deliver the service as described. Update booking status (for example in progress, completed) to match reality.
- Keep listings accurate — Services, hours, photos, and pricing style must match what customers receive.
- Use customer contact details only for the job — Name, phone, and visit address shared through Citizz are for that booking, not unrelated marketing.
- Keep contact on Citizz — Do not ask customers to share a personal phone number, WhatsApp, or address outside the app when Citizz already provides messaging or calling for that booking. See Terms §3.5.
- Treat customers professionally — No harassment, discrimination, threats, or pressure to share OTPs or passwords. See Trust & safety.
What we do not allow
- Ghost or idle listings — Registering, then stopping use of Citizz while your business profile still appears bookable, or routinely failing to open the app to manage bookings.
- Neglected pending queues — A pattern of many pending bookings left unanswered without accept or reject.
- No-shows and false completion — Confirmed work not done without timely cancellation or honest status.
- Persistent poor experience — A pattern of low ratings, customer complaints, grievances, or misconduct toward people who booked through Citizz.
- Content and conduct breaches — Obscene, hateful, fraudulent, or illegal listings and behaviour (see Terms §3).
What Citizz may do
We may act with or without prior warning when we reasonably believe standards or Terms are breached:
- Hide your listing from discovery or deactivate your business profile.
- Suspend or permanently remove your business account.
- Disable sign-in linked to that business where our systems allow.
- Refuse future registration on Citizz for the same operator, contact details, or business identity where we can reasonably identify a repeat attempt.
Citizz may review activity on the platform — such as unanswered pending bookings, long periods of inactivity while your listing stays visible, customer ratings and complaints, grievance reports, and misuse of data shared for bookings — when deciding whether to act. We are not obliged to warn first where customer risk or platform harm is reasonably apparent.
Platform fees and refunds
If your business account is suspended or removed for breaking these standards or Terms §3, amounts already paid to Citizz for platform features (visibility, messaging, subscriptions, and similar) are generally not refunded, including unused time. That does not remove mandatory consumer rights under Indian law. Details: Payments & refunds and Terms §5.
Refunds or disputes about the physical service (the job itself) are between you and the customer; Citizz does not process that payment unless a Citizz checkout clearly applied.
Voluntary closure vs policy removal
- You close your account — Use Profile → close account in the app, or email support. Normal closure rules in Privacy and Terms §10 apply.
- We remove you for standards or policy breach — Different consequences apply; suspended accounts for policy violations generally cannot self-reactivate. Contact Grievance to question a decision; reinstatement is at our discretion.
